A Place to Hang the Moon, by Kate Albus
A delightful middle grade book about three orphans living in London. The story opens with their grandmother’s funeral and a cast of stuffy villagers the children have to indulge. WWII has begun and so without an adult to look after them, the kids are shipped off to the country where they are thrown into a series of dreadfully funny events.
The writing is terrific and the characters are like old friends. Such a satisfying read.
