Greenglass House, by Kate Milford
I don't know how to describe how delightfully odd this book is: A smuggler's inn is run by a sweet couple and their adopted son Milo. The inn is supposed to be empty over the Christmas holiday, but people keep arriving. There's a mystery, and intriguing cast of characters, a more that interesting setting, a surprise ending and hot chocolate. Did I mention that the writing is really good? The fourth book in the series was published in January, 2020, and a fifth book launches in 2021.
