Listening for Lions, by Gloria Whelan

Updated: Feb 15, 2021

This isn't a new book, but it's so timely: a young girl is left an orphan in East Africa during the 1919 Influenza outbreak. Gloria Whelan is an exquisite writer of historic fiction, with 55 books to her credit. She didn't publish her first book until she was nearly 55, and she is still with us at 97 years young.
