The Summer We Found the Baby by Amy Hest

This is such a terrific MG novel for kids at the younger age range. It's so cleverly written from three points of view, it's not like any other story and it's a period piece. Amy Hest is always a good recommendation. It should be labeled Historical in the library, but I think we shelve it in General Fiction. It's 192 pages in larger type, with chapters that are 1-4 pages long. It's perfect for school book reports over 100 pages in Realistic Fiction. Who came up with that category, anyway?
